Sr Analyst – AI Specialist, IT Audit & Assurance

Purpose of the role

The Senior Analysts is a hands-on technical contributor within the IT Audit team. The role focuses on executing IT audit procedures (normal as well as AI-enabled), developing analytics scripts and prototypes, and supporting senior team members in building out the firm’s AI audit capability. The Senior Analysts typically operates on defined workstreams under the guidance of an Assistant Manager or Manager.

Key responsibilities

AI enablement for audit

  • Develop and maintain AI-enabled audit accelerators, scripts and analytics routines (data ingestion, control testing, anomaly detection, journal entry testing automation).
  • Support audit teams in the operational use of AI tools (Copilot-style assistants, data platforms) on live engagements.
  • Document the technical approach, parameters and limitations of each AI accelerator so that the work is reproducible and auditable.

AI risk and audit execution

  • Execute audit procedures on client AI/ML systems under supervision: data quality and lineage testing, model documentation review, output sampling, basic bias and explainability checks.
  • Contribute to the integration of AI considerations into ITGC, ITAC and SOX testing under the methodology defined by senior team members.
  • Track AI regulatory developments (EU AI Act, sectoral guidance) and summarise impacts for the team.

Data and analytics

  • Perform exploratory data analysis on large datasets extracted from SAP, Oracle and other ERP systems.
  • Build dashboards, scripts and simple models to support audit procedures (Python, SQL, Power BI / Tableau).
  • Translate analytical outputs into audit-relevant insights with the support of senior staff.

Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with IT auditors, business audit teams and technology specialists.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing: tooling documentation, training material, lessons learned.

Required qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, AI, Engineering, or a related quantitative/technical discipline OR Chartered Accountant / ACCA with experience in IT Audit or AI.

Certifications

  • ISACA CISA — desirable, not mandatory.
  • ISACA Advanced in AI Audit (AAIA) — a plus.

Experience

  • 2 to 4 years in IT audit, IT risk, cybersecurity or software development.
  • Prior exposure to audit or assurance projects (ITGC, ITAC, SOX, PCAOB) is appreciated but not mandatory.

Core skills

General technical skills

  • Working proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Solid understanding of data structures and exploratory data analysis.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or Tableau.
  • Awareness of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) is appreciated.
