The Workday Support Team Finance Lead is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, control and continuous improvement of Workday Financials across Core Financials, Procure-to-Pay, PSA and finance-related data management. This is a new role, leading a small specialist team of three consultants, ensuring finance issues, change requests, configuration activity, reporting needs and release impacts are managed through robust governance, clear prioritisation and strong service discipline.
The role acts as the operational bridge between Finance, the Workday Product Owner, the wider Workday Support Team, IT and the AMS provider. It ensures Workday remains stable, compliant, well controlled and aligned to Forvis Mazars’ roadmap, while also supporting adoption of standard Workday functionality and continuous improvement across finance processes.

- Review, assess and coordinate finance configuration changes, ensuring changes are understood, documented, tested and approved through the appropriate governance route.
- Work with the wider Workday Support Team to manage dependencies across HCM, Payroll, reporting, integrations, security and finance processes.
Governance, Risk and Controls
- Ensure all finance support and change activity follows agreed Workday governance, including demand management, impact assessment, testing evidence, approvals and release controls.
- Support the Workday Product Owner with security governance, role access reviews and segregation of duties considerations for finance-related roles and processes.
- Maintain strong documentation standards for configuration, business process changes, testing, known issues, workarounds and operational procedures.
- Identify, assess and escalate finance system risks, including control weaknesses, data quality issues, recurring defects and service performance concerns.
- Support audit, compliance and data protection requirements by ensuring finance activity is traceable, controlled and appropriately evidenced.
Stakeholder Engagement and Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with the Finance Process Owner, Finance Shared Services and senior Finance stakeholders to understand operational issues, process pain points and future roadmap priorities.
- Partner with the Workday Product Owner to prioritise finance change requests, backlog items, release impacts and improvement opportunities.
- Act as the day-to-day finance liaison with our AMS partner for complex defects, technical advice, configuration support and higher-complexity change.
- Contribute to Workday release planning, regression testing, communications and adoption activity for finance-related functionality.
- Promote a continuous improvement mindset, focusing on standard Workday functionality, simplified processes, improved self-service, stronger data quality and reduced manual workarounds.
