Job description

We are looking for a proactive payroll officer with 5-10 years’ experience to become a key leader in our outsourcing division to assist with a number of our international and local clients across a diverse range of industries.   You would be required to work with clients on a regular basis to ensure processes are streamlined in order to increase efficiencies predominately through the use of technology and effective procedures.  This role also has a large part in growing the division within our firm.

  • Lead payroll aspects of the AOS division within Mazars Melbourne
  • Manage a high volume of mainly fortnightly and monthly payroll across AUS for a range of different industries
  • Meet strict deadlines with a high attention to detail
  • Keep up to date on relevant legislation and awards
  • On board new clients
  • Train junior staff and provide guidance and assistance where required
  • Review/prepare calculation of termination payments
  • Review/process payroll tax, workers compensation, PAYG payments and superannuation
  • Reply to internal and external client queries in a professional and timely manner
  • Assist management in identifying issues and implementing potential improvements within the payroll function
  • Review/prepare weekly, fortnightly and monthly reports as required.
  • Assist with the preparation of local and international payroll tenders.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders including clients, software providers and internal stakeholders

 

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years’ experience working in an end to end payroll position with AUS payroll experience
  • Have exposure to system implementation
  • Thrive in a deadline driven and fast paced environment
  • Strong knowledge around relevant awards and legislation
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • The attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to succeed
  • Willingness to learn
  • Able to manage and meet deadlines
  • Confidence with client interaction within various industries
  • Pro-active and hard-working approach
  • Able to adapt, identify and provide solutions for internal processing
