Learning & Development Data and Systems (Analyst)

Role: Learning & Development Data and Systems (Analyst)

Experience: 3+ Years

Location: Pune

Purpose of the Role

The Learning & Development Data and Systems Analyst plays a pivotal role in enabling a controlled, insight led and scalable learning operation. The role has significant responsibility for the preparation, implementation and ongoing optimisation of the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring that learning workflows, data, reporting and governance protocols are embedded consistently across the firm.

The postholder acts as the central point of expertise for learning data, systems and reporting — supporting the wider Learning & Talent Development team and internal stakeholders with practical, system-based solutions that enable efficient delivery, regulatory compliance, cost control and high quality decision making.

In addition to system and data ownership, the role provides portfolio level operational insight across all L&TD provision, enabling the L&TD Operations Manager to maintain oversight of performance, risk and compliance across the full learning portfolio.

Key Accountabilities

LMS Implementation & Transformation

  • Play a key role in the preparation for and implementation of the LMS, including requirements gathering, data preparation, testing, validation and go live support.
  • Support the design, build and documentation of LMS workflows that enable efficient administration, tracking, evaluation and reporting of learning activity.
  • Work closely with Learning Operations, Learning Design, Group Learning, IT and vendors to ensure LMS configuration aligns to agreed governance and operational requirements.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT), defect management and post implementation review.
  • Ensure that workflows and data reporting between the LMS and other systems is seamless and steps taken to resolve.

LMS Optimisation & Workflow Design

  • Own the ongoing optimisation of the LMS post implementation, ensuring it continues to meet business, regulatory and operational needs.
  • Build and maintain structured workflows within the LMS (e.g. enrolment, approvals, pathways, evaluations, exception handling).
  • Act as a solutions partner to the wider L&TD team and internal stakeholders, using the LMS to resolve operational challenges rather than manual workarounds.
  • Ensure system enhancements are controlled, documented and aligned to agreed ways of working.

Learning Data Management & Governance

  • Own the integrity, structure and governance of learning data across systems, ensuring accuracy, consistency and audit readiness.
  • Establish and maintain clear data definitions, rules and controls for learning data (e.g. mandatory training, attendance, completions, evaluations).
  • Ensure data workflows and reporting outputs are aligned to governance protocols, audit requirements and internal controls.
  • Maintain the process inventory and ongoing gap analysis, take remedial action where needed and report on progress.
  • Provide controlled datasets and evidence trails to support internal and external audit activity (e.g. ISQM/SOQM).
  • Maintain portfolio based evidence trails and datasets to support audit activity and regulatory assurance.
  • Ensure data structures and reporting enable clear portfolio segmentation, rather than programme by programme visibility only.

Portfolio Intelligence & Risk Insight

  • Maintain a portfolio level view of learning operations, using data to identify trends, imbalances or risk across provision.
  • Provide early warning of compliance, capacity or delivery risks that may affect one or more portfolios.
  • Support the Operations Manager with structured insight and recommendations, rather than raw data, to enable timely and informed decisions.

Reporting, Insights & Analytics

  • Produce accurate, timely and meaningful learning reports for stakeholders across Learning & Talent Development, service lines and leadership.
  • Deliver mandatory learning and compliance reporting, including tracking, exception reporting and escalation.
  • Analyse trends, risks and performance indicators within learning data and translate these into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Support the development of dashboards and automated reporting where appropriate.
  • Produce portfolio level operational reporting, providing clear visibility of performance, compliance, delivery risk and trends across Early Careers, Professional Education, Talent Development and central programmes.
  • Analyse learning data to identify cross portfolio risks, systemic issues or emerging pressure points, escalating insight to the Operations Manager with clear interpretation.
  • Translate complex system data into decision ready insight, highlighting where intervention or prioritisation may be required at portfolio level.

Budget Reporting & Cost Control

  • Monitor and report on learning budget spend, including costs associated with systems, programmes, vendors and delivery.
  • Support the Learning Administration and Operations Manager with cost tracking, forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Ensure learning spend data is accurate, transparent and supports effective cost control and decision making.
  • Maintain clear links between learning activity, system data and financial reporting.

Evaluation & Impact Measurement

  • Support the firm’s learning evaluation framework through robust data capture, reporting and analysis.
  • Ensure evaluation data is structured, accessible and usable to inform continuous improvement and governance reporting.
  • Work with Learning Design colleagues to provide data driven insight into programme effectiveness and impact.

Process Improvement & Documentation

  • Identify inefficiencies, risks or manual workarounds in learning systems and data processes and propose system led improvements.
  • Support the design, documentation and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) relating to learning data, systems and reporting.
  • Contribute to operational resilience, scalability and business continuity through well designed systems and workflows.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Support

  • Work closely with Learning Operations, Learning Design, Early Careers, Professional Education and Group Learning colleagues.
  • Provide guidance and informal training to team members on LMS functionality, workflows and reporting.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for learning data and systems queries.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience in a data, systems or analytics role within Learning, HR or a similar professional services environment.
  • Strong experience working with Learning Management Systems, including configuration, workflows and reporting.
  • Experience supporting system implementation or significant system change.
  • Strong data handling and reporting skills, with advanced Excel capability.
  • Experience working within governance frameworks, controls or audit led environments.
  • High attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting LMS implementation or migration programmes.
  • Experience in budget tracking, cost reporting or financial controls.
  • Experience of reporting tools or dashboards (e.g. Power BI).
  • Understanding of regulatory or mandatory training requirements within professional services or financial services.

Key Behaviours & Ways of Working

  • Governance focused: prioritises control, accuracy and compliance.
  • Solutions oriented: uses systems and data to solve problems sustainably.
  • Detail driven, big picture aware: balances precision with operational impact.
  • Collaborative: works effectively with UK based stakeholders and global colleagues.

  • The LMS is implemented effectively and embedded as the primary operational tool for learning delivery and governance.
  • Learning data and workflows are consistent, controlled and audit ready.
  • Stakeholders have clear visibility of compliance, performance and spend.
  • Learning systems actively reduce manual effort and operational risk.
  • Budget spend is transparent, well reported and effectively controlled.
