About this position
Working closely with the senior members of the Global Mobility Team, you will focus on expanding the reach of the practice and on the delivery of an exceptional service to your clients, demonstrating your
solid tax technical capabilities and building strong and lasting relationships with your client base. Combined with this you will also be responsible for developing and coaching junior members of the team, and other functions needed for the efficient running of the team.
Role & Responsibilities
To manage all day-to-day aspects of a client portfolio, this will include the following:
• Conducting arrival and departure meetings with international assignees.
• Reviewing UK tax returns and dealing with any queries arising.
• Managing modified expatriate payrolls, gross up calculations and the year-end process.
• Strong Financial management.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and provide a high level of client service.
• Manage and coach junior members of the team to ensure a high standard of client delivery.
• To be the primary contact point for both the corporate clients and the individual expatriates.
• Manage the successful delivery of tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and a
practical/business driven approach.
• Manage risk appropriately for both clients and the firm.
• Deliver advisory work on your portfolio and assist more senior members of the team with specific advisory projects.
To take a leading role in growing the Global Mobility practice with particular focus in the North of England and the West Midlands.
• Assisting in winning work by proactively managing existing clients and contribute to winning new clients.
• Building strong relationships with clients and targets in the region
• Extensive networking with colleagues in the wider tax teams
• Working on tenders and delivering proposals.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
• Proven ability to win work and grow a client base
• ATT or CTA qualified
• Extensive relevant expatriate tax/global mobility experience.
• Experience of managing expatriate tax programs with a track record of high-quality delivery.
• Strong practical knowledge of current GM advisory issues including SRT, Social Security and PWD post Brexit, Double tax treaties, NRDs, modified payroll, remote workers, PAYE obligations.
• Experience of leading and motivating more junior staff.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills with clients and staff at all levels with the ability to build rapport and develop strong relationships.
• Ability to understand the full range of the firm’s service offering and translating that into identifying new work opportunities.
• Commercial awareness and a practical, business driven approach.
