Role: AI Developer
Experience: 5-8 Years
Location: Pune, India
About the Role
The AI Innovation Developer will help the AI Innovation team build, test and improve internal AI solutions across Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio and Azure AI Foundry. The role combines hands-on technical development with stakeholder engagement, helping translate business problems into practical prototypes, agents, workflows and production-ready solutions.
Key Responsibilities
AI solution development: Build and support POCs and operationalise AI solutions using Copilot, Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Python, APIs and relevant Microsoft cloud services.
Document and data workflows: Build and refine AI workflows involving document extraction, OCR, semantic chunking, LLM prompting, model/API calls, custom field extraction and structured outputs.
Agent development: Support declarative agents, Copilot Studio agents and more advanced Azure AI Foundry workflows where integration, scale or control is required.
Business translation: Work with business teams to understand use cases, challenge unclear requirements, explain technical options and translate business needs into practical build routes.
Technical documentation: Use Azure DevOps, Git or equivalent repositories to document code, maintain technical artefacts and support handover of prototypes or internal tools.
Production readiness: Work with Cloud Services, Data and BizTech teams on resource groups, deployments, access, cost monitoring, thresholds and production-readiness considerations.
Skills and Experience
Microsoft AI platforms: Hands-on experience with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Copilot Studio, Microsoft 365 Copilot or comparable AI development platforms.
Technical development: Strong working knowledge of Python, APIs, LLMs, prompt design, machine learning concepts, OCR/document processing and agentic AI patterns.
DevOps and documentation: Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, version control, technical documentation and structured handover of code or internal tool assets.
Prototype development: Ability to build lightweight front-end/back-end prototypes or work effectively with technical colleagues who support design, deployment and integration.
Stakeholder management: Experience working with stakeholders to define use cases, test feasibility, communicate constraints and keep delivery moving from proof-of-concept toward production.
Mindset: Resourceful, practical and comfortable working across ambiguous or fast-changing requirements. Experience in a start-up, scale-up, innovation team or fast-moving technical environment would be valuable.
