Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Firmwide Group Client Acceptance Procedures

  • Primary contact person for group acceptance and independence mailbox and communicate to relevant personnel
  • Perform independence and conflict checks
  • Perform background checks for new clients and complete AML assessment
  • Assist engagement teams in identifying potential conflict of interest or independence issues and escalate the matter to engagement manager and partner
  • Evaluate client and engagement acceptance aligns with the firm’s risk appetite and group policies
  • Timely updating of internal standard operating procedures and local acceptance forms aligned with the group practices
  • Prepare required templates and report to group on periodic basis
  • Maintain accurate records for all acceptance and continuance decisions

Staff Independence

  • Circulate and maintain specific independence declaration for staff
  • Prepare and report to group on periodic basis

Regulatory compliance

  • Update firm’s policies based on regulatory changes

General Compliance

  • Preparing information for the reporting to the group and or professional bodies
  • Liaising with engagement teams for regulatory inspections from regulatory agencies
  • Prepare relevant documents for client appointments and resignations, including for regulatory submission

Other ad hoc duties as and may be assigned

Requirements

  • Degree in Accountancy, Business or relevant discipline
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in an international public accounting firm or financial services companies.
  • Keen interest in the international development of the risk management profession
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound independent judgment including knowing when to escalate concerns
  • Good understanding of corporate governance, local regulatory compliance and accounting principles
  • Possess good communication in English. Additional language will be an advantage
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and able to work independently
  • Organised and proactive with innovative attitude
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and preparing reports (vlookup, pivot tables, etc.).
