Forvis Mazars Legal Vietnam LLC is searching for a Senior Legal Consultant for Hanoi office.

Job overview:

The Senior Legal Consultant provides legal advice and support across a range of legal matters handled by the firm, with a focus on investment, corporate, M&A, labor and regulatory issues. The role involves working directly with clients, managing assigned matters independently, supervising and reviewing the work of junior team members when necessary, and reporting legal risks, issues and recommendations to supervising managers/partners.

The Senior Legal Consultant will work in a multi-cultural team, led by Vietnamese and international lawyers. He/She may also have to work on other legal aspects (real estate, constructions, ADR, etc.) from time to time.

Key Responsibilities:

Investment, Corporate & Regulatory issues

Advise clients on foreign investment, corporate establishment, restructuring, and ongoing compliance in Vietnam (including data protection, industry-specific compliance requirements, etc.).
Support clients in licensing and regulatory matters, and liaise with relevant authorities when required.

M&A

Advise clients on M&A and investment transactions.
Conduct legal due diligence and identify key legal risks and issues.
Draft and review transaction documents.
Support licensing, approvals and post-closing matters with relevant authorities.

Labor

Advise clients on employment matters, including labor contracts, internal labor regulations, disciplinary actions, termination and labor compliance, etc.
Support clients in handling labor disputes with employees.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Law;
A qualified Lawyer in Vietnam or trainee lawyer at the Judicial Academy in Vietnam;
At least 3–4 years of relevant legal experience working with foreign clients and cross-border matters, preferably in a leading law firm or legal consulting environment;
Strong command of written and spoken English;
Strong legal analysis, drafting and communication skills;
Professional attitude, strong sense of responsibility and ability to work under pressure;
French proficiency is a plus;
Experience in construction or dispute resolution/ADR is a plus.
