What are we looking for?
- Qualified ACA / ICAI / CA / ACCA (or equivalent) qualification.
- Experience in leading external audits from planning through to completion.
- Relevant strategic market audit experience.
- Up-to-date technical knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS102 and IFRS.
- Experience of managing and coaching audit trainees.
- Experience of using audit software and Microsoft Office package
- Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Actively seeks to enhance expertise and knowledge, operate with a curious and sceptical mindset.
- Ability to identify issues through sound analysis and application of sector knowledge in all situations.
- Aids, shares experience, provides meaningful feedback and proactively supports the development of others
- Self-driven, takes ownership of the work, effectively delegates to juniors within the team and takes responsibility for quality control
As an Audit Senior, you will be required to:
- Assess and produce high quality work in line with the Firm’s policy and processes, meeting relevant regulatory requirements.
- support the engagement manager and leader, based in the United Kingdom, by overseeing and providing on-the-job coaching to other members of the offshore team who form part of the extended audit team.
- participate in audit team planning and debrief meetings upon completion of, and during engagements to identify lessons learned and enhance future quality and planning.
- managing and controlling audit assignments assigned to you in timely manner.
- managing time spent to complete audit tasks and procedures in line with agreed timescales and providing regular status updates on progress.
- ensure audit standards and review protocols are maintained during an engagement, which includes timely clearance of review notes.
- act as a point of contact for engagement managers and clients, ensuring both are kept fully informed of relevant issues arising and the progress of the audit.
- draft relevant audit completion documents such as the audit opinion or letter of representation for the engagement manager and RI, and support with the drafting of other reporting documents, including group reporting and audit committee papers.
- provide constructive feedback to team members for performance appraisals.
- build strong working relationships with the extended audit team, ensuring any problems or requests are dealt with promptly.
