At Forvis Mazars, we empower our people to embrace change and create meaningful impact. As an Audit Senior – Insurance, you will be part of an experienced and collaborative Financial Services audit team, responsible for leading key sections of UK audit engagements within the Insurance sector.
You will work closely with UK engagement managers, ensuring high‑quality audit delivery, effective team coordination, and adherence to regulatory and firm standards. This role is ideal for qualified professionals seeking to deepen their expertise in insurance audits within a global, people‑focused, and inclusive organisation.
Key Responsibilities
As an Audit Senior, you will:
- Deliver high‑quality audit work in line with firm methodology and regulatory requirements.
- Support UK‑based engagement managers by supervising, guiding, and providing on‑the‑job coaching to offshore team members.
- Contribute to audit planning, risk assessment discussions, and post‑engagement debriefs to drive continuous improvement.
- Manage assigned audit areas efficiently and ensure timely completion within agreed deadlines.
- Monitor project timelines and communicate regular updates on progress and challenges.
- Maintain audit standards and ensure timely clearance of review notes.
- Act as a key point of contact for engagement managers and clients, ensuring clear, professional communication.
- Prepare draft audit documentation including audit opinions, letters of representation, group reporting, and committee papers.
- Offer constructive feedback and support the development of junior team members.
- Foster strong working relationships with onshore and offshore members of the extended audit team.
What We Are Looking For
- Qualified ACA / ICAI / CA / ACCA (or equivalent).
- Experience leading external audits from planning to completion, ideally within the Insurance or broader Financial Services sector.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS 102 / IFRS.
- Experience coaching and supervising audit trainees.
- Familiarity with audit software and Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Professional scepticism, analytical mindset, and strong issue‑identification abilities.
- Self‑driven, ownership‑focused, and committed to delivering high‑quality work.
- Ability to delegate effectively while maintaining quality oversight.
