About this position
Job Purpose
Our SOC service line operates nationally in the UK and serves all strategic markets and organisations from the small to the large and complex.
We have a growing portfolio of clients for whom we perform SOC (system and organisational controls) reviews and we are looking to grow the team to focus on this service offering, whilst supporting our other IT assurance work.

The job role comprises the following
- Responsibility for executing day to day third-party assurance work and reviews on behalf of a number of clients in the UK / globally
- Delivering work to the highest technical standards including ensuring the work is conducted in line with Forvis Mazars Quality standards
- Building and developing strong working relationships with the client, ensuring any problems or requests are dealt with promptly and escalated where required
- Supporting junior staff and take active interest in developing the staff in projects
- Supporting the Senior Manager / Manager to manage specific streams of work and staff in the work stream
- Testing design and operating effectiveness of controls
- Reviewing of the outputs of more junior staff members
- Initial drafting of client deliverables including reports
- Day-to-day client liaison
- supporting clients through “readiness” assessments for such services
The ideal candidate would have a combination of the following
- Minimum three years’ experience in delivering and / or managing third-party assurance engagements
- A good understanding of the SOC framework and standards, including ISAE 3402; ISAE 3000; AAF 01/20; SOC 1 and SOC 2
- Proven track record of working on multiple engagements, ensuring the delivery of high-quality work within the deadline and to budget
- Experience in the following:
- Walkthroughs of design of controls
- Testing of operating effectiveness of controls
- Review of the outputs of more junior staff members
- Initial drafting of client deliverables including reports
- Day to day client liaison
- The ability to effectively work with colleagues to ensure that you deliver high-quality work and remain motivated
- The ability to manage stakeholder expectations
- Effective communication skills, verbal and written, including, report writing is essential
- Project management skills, keeping track of progress and issues
- Strong academic background with a degree at a minimum
