As an Audit Senior – Mid Market, you will join our dynamic Non‑Financial Services audit team, taking ownership of key sections of UK audit engagements across diverse sectors including Industry & Services, Privately Owned Businesses, and the Public & Social Sector.
You will collaborate closely with UK engagement managers and the extended audit team, ensuring that every audit task is delivered to the highest quality standards. The role requires strong technical grounding, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with precision and professionalism under tight timelines.
Key Responsibilities
As an Audit Senior, you will:
- Deliver high‑quality audit work in compliance with firm methodology and applicable regulatory standards.
- Support UK engagement managers by supervising and mentoring offshore team members within the extended audit team.
- Participate in engagement planning, execution, and debrief phases to support continuous quality improvement.
- Manage assigned sections of the audit, ensuring timely execution and effective coordination.
- Monitor progress against deadlines and communicate regular updates to engagement leaders.
- Maintain audit quality, ensuring timely clearance of review notes and proper documentation.
- Serve as a point of contact for engagement managers and clients, ensuring clarity and transparency.
- Draft key audit completion documents including audit opinions, letters of representation, and group reporting packs.
- Provide meaningful feedback and coaching to junior staff to support their development.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with the onshore and offshore extended audit teams.
What We Are Looking For
- Qualified ACA / ICAI / CA / ACCA (or equivalent certification).
- Strong experience in leading external audits from planning through completion.
- Exposure to audits within Mid Market / Non‑Financial Services sectors.
- Sound technical expertise in UK GAAP / FRS 102 / IFRS.
- Experience supervising and coaching audit trainees.
- Proficiency with audit software and Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Curiosity, analytical thinking, and strong professional scepticism.
- Ability to identify issues, apply sector knowledge, and recommend solutions.
- Self‑driven and responsible, with strong delegation and quality‑control skills.
