Role: Audit Support –Audit Valuation (Senior)

About the role
As an Audit Senior, you will be required to:
- Review and assess Plant & Machinery valuations prepared by management and third-party valuers for financial reporting purposes.
- Challenge valuation methodologies, assumptions, useful lives, depreciation approaches, obsolescence considerations, and replacement cost estimates.
- Support UK audit teams in evaluating fair value measurements and impairment assessments under IFRS and UK GAAP.
- Conduct independent valuation analysis and benchmarking of machinery and industrial assets.
- Review insurance valuations for industrial facilities and equipment portfolios.
- Assist with purchase price allocations, business combinations, impairment reviews, and fixed asset valuation projects.
- Participate in meetings with audit teams, clients, and valuation advisors to discuss valuation findings and key areas of judgment.
- Prepare clear, concise, and well-supported valuation review reports and technical documentation.
- Manage assigned engagements effectively, ensuring quality delivery within agreed timelines.
- Support business development activities, proposals, and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the valuation practice.
- Contribute to training and coaching junior team members on valuation concepts and methodologies.
About the Audit Business Units
Audit Valuations
The Audit Valuations team provides specialist valuation support to audit and advisory engagements across various industries. The team advises on valuations relating to Property, Plant & Equipment, real estate, intangible assets, insurance assessments, financial reporting requirements, and transaction-related matters.
Working alongside professionals from diverse valuation disciplines, the team delivers independent, technically robust, and commercially practical valuation advice while maintaining the highest standards of audit quality and professional integrity.
What are we looking for?
- MRICS, ASA, or equivalent professional valuation qualification.
- Experience in Plant & Machinery valuations, preferably within audit support, financial reporting, insurance, or advisory environments.
- Strong understanding of valuation methodologies, including:
- Depreciated Replacement Cost (DRC)
- Market Approach
- Cost Approach
- Income Approach (where applicable)
- Familiarity with International Valuation Standards (IVS) and RICS Valuation Standards (Red Book).
- Ability to work effectively within global and cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to challenge assumptions and identify valuation risks.
