Our China and Hong Kong tax specialists provide the full range of services required for a wide variety of local and international companies which operate in the Mainland and Hong Kong. Hong Kong, as a Special Administrative Region of China, is governed by separate tax laws from the Mainland. Our experts are able to advise on tax / transfer pricing regulations for both jurisdictions.
We are now seeking the right candidate to join our Tax team. This is a managerial position for those who aspire to further their career as a professional tax advisor in tax advisory and compliance.
What you can expect
- Oversee comprehensive research on HK and international tax issues, tax laws regulations and guidelines
- Manage and lead on a diverse wide range of projects including M&A, IPOs and other ad hoc projects
- Advise clients on tax risk management, planning opportunities, and dispute resolution strategies
- Drive high quality tax consulting for BEPS/Pillar Two, funds, family offices, etc.
- Manage and oversee the tax, Pillar Two, CRS or CARF compliance assignments, ensuring quality, accuracy, and adherence to all regulatory standards and applicable guidelines
- Develop and manage client service accounts, and drive assigned client engagement workstreams
- Communicate complex tax concepts and latest legislation development clearly and persuasively to non‑tax audiences including CFOs, boards and business leaders
- Support business development including preparation of proposals, tenders, presentations for seminars / webinars, etc.
- Mentor and supervise junior team members, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback
Who we are looking for
- A degree holder in Legal / Finance/ Accounting or related discipline
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in compliance and consultancy work in tax
- Experience in financial services or BEPS/Pillar Two
- Member of recognised professional legal / accounting qualifications will be an advantage
- A team player who can handle assignments independently and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent communication skills, strong analytical, management and organisation skills
- Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese)
